Easy to not cry, Rita lied, wrapping her knuckles with tape. Tightening her braids and laces, she stepped into the ring – canvas empty, awaiting bloody strokes of passion. Rita imagined a masterpiece of pain.  She had endured his love and other acts of violence. He won’t be ready for round two.
