Every once in a while, I turn up a few bits and pieces of art I’ve created (like these flowers). I’m not sure what inspires the variety but I enjoy trying to recall influences or where my imagination may have been. The drawings here were an attempt at blackline minimalism. I hoped to generate a composition that could be screen printed or cut from a linoleum block. The addition of the red element was meant as a kind of visual haiku – a bit of outstanding surprise to reconsider the whole. In retrospect, I’m not certain they work but the images were fun to produce. Maybe I’ll take a shot at it again soon.
It has been a major struggle to keep to daily posting! Still trying though.
