As part of my effort this year to produce more creatively, I had an idea for a slogan (illustrated below). I wanted to express the relationship between positive action and feeling.
It started, as many of my sketches do, with a freely flowing line. I added a bit of color and was generally satisfied. I eventually aimed to tighten the drawing for a greeting card or t-shirt design. I only hesitated because it looked very familiar to something I’d seen before but I couldn’t place it.
Then, after several days, I saw a truck with a similar logo design.
Perhaps it is a stretch to say that the latter is directly imitated by the former. All I know is that this artistic synchronicity was entirely unintentional. I feel, however, it is necessary to acknowledge the influence where it is due. As a way to pay it forward, I offer the link below to ways you can help others this holiday season.
